LETTER FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENTAt the Oregon Home Builders Association, our mission is to advocate for the home building industry and promote policies that ensure housing is accessible, sustainable, and affordable for all Oregonians. We provide critical resources, education, and support to our members—builders, remodelers, and industry professionals—who are at the forefront of creating safe, vibrant communities across the state. Our work is essential because housing is more than just a structure; it’s the foundation of strong families, thriving economies, and a better quality of life. By addressing challenges like regulatory barriers, lack of land supply, rising construction costs, and workforce development, we help our members succeed while ensuring that homeownership remains within reach for Oregon’s families. Together, we’re building a brighter future—one home, one community, and one policy at a time. Thank you for being a part of this vital mission. -Mike Riddle |
WHAT WE DO
The Oregon Home Builders Association (OHBA) is the trusted voice of home builders, remodelers, and housing industry professionals across Oregon. With a statewide network of local associations, we are dedicated to advocating for housing affordability, protecting small businesses, and addressing the state’s housing challenges. Through focused advocacy and essential education programs, OHBA empowers members to thrive while building stronger communities for all Oregonians.
EDUCATING TODAY’S BUILDERS. ADVOCATING FOR TOMORROW’S INDUSTRY.
Advocacy
Advocacy is at the heart of OHBA’s mission. Our efforts are championed by a dedicated team of lobbyists and our Government Affairs Committee, who work year-round to influence legislation and regulatory decisions that impact the housing industry. From Salem to local government offices, we amplify the voices of builders, ensuring policymakers understand the importance of pro-housing policies and business-friendly regulations. Through our advocacy, we help shape Oregon’s housing future and safeguard the interests of our members.
Education
Education is how we equip our members to meet the demands of a changing industry. OHBA provides essential training and certification programs, including lead-based paint certification and online continuing education courses. These programs help members stay compliant, improve their skills, and adapt to evolving regulations and industry standards. By prioritizing education, we ensure our members are prepared to succeed and contribute to Oregon’s growing housing needs.
